We stayed in two hotels during our time in Phuket. Our first being 77 Patong Hotel & Spa, this hotel was great, perfect location, great facilities and has a rooftop pool! Our second hotel was- IHOC - Phuket Old Town. Another great stay in a great location to the old town. This hotel also has a small pool and breakfast included.

Day 1- Arriving in Phuket and Bangla road

We arrived from our flight and headed straight to the public bus. It only costs 100 THB, but make sure you have exact change—they don’t offer any. The traffic heading to our hotel was pretty heavy, but once we finally got there, we checked in and went straight out in search of food.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the new surroundings (and definitely hungry), we went for burgers at Prime Burger—rumoured to serve some of the best burgers in Phuket. They offer veggie options too, which was a great bonus. The food was delicious, although it was a little on the pricey side.

After dinner, we freshened up at the hotel and made our way to the famous Bangla Road. We took our time strolling up and down the neon-lit street before landing at our first bar of the evening—The Star. They had some really cool live music, with surprisingly talented singers.

A few drinks in, we wandered over to New York Live Music Bar, which also had a fantastic live band and a buzzing vibe. After a few more drinks, we were ready to head into Illuzion Club. The headliner that night was Jason Bojsen, so there was a cover charge—but it was worth it. We had such a good time and spent a solid few hours in there

Day 2- Recovery Day & a great dinner

The next day was a total write-off. We stayed in, nursed our hangovers, and chilled around the hotel. We did manage to try the viral 7-Eleven toasties though—and yes, they lived up to the hype. For dinner, we went to No.6 Restaurant, which was absolutely lovely. There was a huge queue by the time we left, so clearly a popular spot and I would definitely recommend!

Day 3- Exploring Phuket Old Town

The next morning, we checked out of our hotel and grabbed a Grab to our next accommodation in Phuket Old Town. After checking in, we went for a walk to explore the area.

Our first stop was Lock Tien for some lunch. The food was tasty, but if you’re vegetarian, be aware that the only real option was spring rolls—still good, though! We also made time to walk around the old town and visit Wat Klang, the Golden Dragon Monument, and the yellow clock tower—some of the must-see landmarks in town.

In the evening, we headed over to the Sunday Market, and I have to say—it’s one of my favourite markets so far. It has everything: street food, souvenirs, and lots of fun, quirky items. We tried so many different dishes, and everything we sampled was amazing.

While walking through the market, we stopped at Mad Hog Tavern. This bar is super cool—the entrance door was my favourite, and the interior design is clearly well thought out. We both ordered the alcoholic butterbeer and it was unreal. I 100% recommend dropping by for a drink (they also offer mocktail versions if you prefer!).

The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, grabbed our bags, and took a Grab to the ferry terminal to start the next part of our trip: the Phi Phi Islands.
